Off the Wall is a contemporary art magazine from Maine. Each issue profiles a working artist in paint, sculpture, encaustic, photography, or fiber, and the place that shapes the work.

Dr. Lisa Belisle is the primary author. She also hosts Radio Maine, a long-form interview show, and writes The Bountiful Path, her Substack on medicine, art, and the turning seasons. Off the Wall publishes in partnership with Portland Art Gallery, where many of the artists in these pages show their work.
