Metal is my favorite sculpture medium. Much of my work is stainless steel. I look for shapes that appeal to my sense of rhythm, harmony, and motion. I see patterns in left over shapes, which I recycle by reconstructing them into beautiful sculptures. Using leftover industrial shapes from metal yards, I fill my ethical need to reduce my footprint on this earth in an environmentally sound way. It’s rewarding to see the discarded become beautiful. I also work directly in mild steel; forming elegant and playful shapes with vivid colors. The works of Picasso, Stella, and Calder resonate with me and have clearly influenced my work.
